DIY Monroe piercing advice?

Yes, the title says everything.
And please don't try convince me not to do this, cause I've wanted one for so long that would just kill me to have discouraging-nesss.
I've done some of my piercings before,
But Monroe's seem quite different and probably harder to do than what experienced with.



what equipment would i need for this one?
And - when you stick the needle or whatever through, is that what the gauge is used for or is the gauge only needed for placing the jewelry in the Monroe afterwards?
Because, on the gauge the piercing is placed, but is there an alternative gauge placing that could be needle form? eg.
(these arn't them btw)
Or am i completely wrong?

Cause the most annoying thing I've had to put up with is, when you get the needle through, no matter what your lip is gonna swell up, and that's why the needle must be 2x bigger than the jewelry. And from what i saw, i got the impression that the gauge was used to get it through? But then you can just push it through with your hands anyway after a few weeks, but Monroe's are much smaller than the bar in my lip, and my septum is my simplest that took 5 seconds.

Plz. And lol i don't feel comfortable watching Youtube vids so plz don't suggest that i should, cause they make me shudder.
